Kember & Jones Cafe

Kember and Jones is a well established artisanal coffee shop located on Byres Road in the West End of Glasgow. When they first opened in 2004, K&J did not sell the variety of baked goods they do today. The cafe started small, offering minimal selections of food and pastries. In 2010, K&J opened their very own bakery and coffee roastery, and the cafe has now grown to be one of the best in all of Glasgow. Today, K&J offer a tremendous selection of pastires and treats freshly made in the early hours of the morning. What they are even more well known for is their extensive selection of homemade bread. For any iced coffee lovers out there, K&J has one of the better cups in Glasgow. At K&J, nothing stays on the shelves for very long, so get their early and stay for a while!

The K&J store front has massive wall size windows that allow the cafe to be illuminated by the natural sunlight. After walking in the front doors, you will be welcomed to a bright and friendly environment. The front counter is used to display all their delicious baked goods, while sleek wooden shelves hold their breads and bags of ground coffee. Chalkboards are hung from the white stone wall displaying both coffee and bakery menus. Facing the counter, their open kitchen lies just to the left where a team of chefs cooks up breakfast and lunch selection made-to-order. Right above the kitchen, a second, loft-like, seating area provides customers with an even better view of the cafe and outdoors. After you indulge in some of K&J's tasty treats, the Glasgow Botanical Gardens are just a short 5 minutes walk up Byres Road. Here you can walk through winding paths and enjoy beautiful arrays of flowers while you take the last sips of your coffee!
