Breakfast places in Scotland you don’t want to miss!

1. Hula Juice Bar & Gallery – Edinburgh

Taking a day trip to Edinburgh to escape the hustle and bustle of Glasgow? Then HulaJuice Bar and Gallery is a must stop once your arrive! This delicious and healthy spot is located on West Bow, a beautiful street littered with colourful houses. It will take you straight back to Notting Hill in London.

They have a fantastic menu with so many delicious options that may make it a bit difficult to pick, but in a place like this there is no such thing as a wrong decision. At the top of our menu recommendations are their fruit bowls; it’s impossible to decide if they look or taste better! A must try is their Maca Nana Bowl with bananas, blueberries, peanut butter and frozen raspberries.

2. Single End - Glasgow

Single End offers comfort food at it’s best! Finding good bread in the UK (as I’m used to from Germany) isn’t that easy. But Single End knows how to do it! You can take your pick from their amazing selection of home made products. Curious what sweet potato and almond bread tastes…then this is your opportunity. Our top three favourites dishes are the hot smoked, poached sandwich with the nut and olive loaf, the Betty Breakfast and the French Toast with poached fruit and mascarpone.

Although we give those three dishes our best regards, in a place like this you can’t go wrong with any of the options and customizations. Most of the food options are vegan and/or gluten free. The cake selection is also impressive. The carrot cake is one of the best I had in Glasgow. The staff is helpful and motivated even during busy peak times.

4. Flame Tree Cafe’ – Dundee

For all the foodies wanting to do a day trip to Dundee then make sure to check out Flame Tree Café. Fun fact: Dundee is considered the sunniest city in Scotland where you will find palm trees growing. Don’t ask me how they survive a Scottish winter.

Their milkshake and Frappe/ Vegan Frappe’s selection is impressive for instance a choc min, s’mores and white chocolate and raspberry Frappe. I had the rainbow bagel with cream cheese and a chocolate milkshake. I can definitely recommend it (great for a hangover;)
